Hojin, better known as Ximon, is an all-rounder. Singer, songwriter, lyricist, and producer, he made his solo debut in March 2021 with the digital single "Ch:D ocking", although he first appeared as a lyricist and composer on OnlyOneOf's debut album "dot point jump," with the tracks 'OnlyOneOf yOu' and 'fragile.' His musical style, blending rap and R&B, is evident not only in his solo works but also in the songs of Carmine, a group he is also a part of along with Xiso and Senji.
Ximon became interested in music at a very young age. "In my third year of high school, I was shocked when I saw Big Bang's 'Fantastic Baby' music video and decided that I needed to do something like that", he told us.
His journey to becoming a complete artist came from everything he learned as a trainee. "I trained at various companies such as Cube, Happy Face, Polaris, and Blockberry Creative. Through these experiences, I learned a lot, saw many things, felt many emotions, and naturally continued making music."
Ximon is passionate about music, and that's why working on his solo music or for other artists comes naturally to him. He writes, composes, and produces for artists like OnlyOneOf, 8TURN, Chung-ha, R1SE, and Carmine, and he usually doesn't specifically plan a song for groups or projects. "I try to match the group's style as much as possible, but I also try to incorporate my own style, thinking, 'What would it be like if this were my song?' I always try to incorporate my own color, but I also stick to the emotions that naturally arise," he said when asked how he separates his work.
Also, for Ximon, there is no difference in writing for other groups or for MOONZ, as he affectionately calls his fans. "Actually, there isn't much difference. I make music because I love it; I want to share my thoughts and stories. If I can do that, I will make any kind of music."
Additionally, among the songs he created, Ximon highlighted the works he is most proud of and considers perfect: "Docking," "Carmine," "Yoonseul," and "Fragile," the latter being one of his early works with OnlyOneOf. "Yoonseul" is Ximon's latest release.
And regarding new releases, he gave us a spoiler! "I have clearly defined the criteria and style of my music with my producer friends. I intend to try many types of music in the future. The album will be released around November."
In a moment of curiosity, we asked if he could create a dream music video, what would it be like, and Ximon replied, "I would love to make a performance video with many dance scenes. It's an old dream of mine and something I do well."
Can we expect a release with a dance-filled music video and Ximon's vibrant colors?
To wrap up, he also mentioned that it would be an honor to come to Brazil and meet the MOONZ! "I hope that day comes soon."
